Cut a Rock beginner guide
The short version. Start by redeeming the free codes, then work through this.
1. Train on anvils to get Power
Power is what breaks the mine doors between floors. You gain it by training on anvils in the AFK training area, and how much depends on the anvil's multiplier and the pickaxe you have equipped. Better anvils unlock as you fill in your Index.
2. Break floors, collect rocks
Each floor is closed off by a door you hit with your Power. Break it and you reach more rocks to collect, rare ones included. Your bag only holds so many rocks at once, so expect to make trips.
3. Cut rocks open in your machines
Rocks go into cutting machines, which take time to open them and reveal what's inside. A long cut can run for hours (up to a 24-hour limit). Sell what you find for Money, then spend it on pickaxes, machine upgrades and more.
4. Fill your Index for auras and anvils
Every new material you discover goes into your Index. Completing entries unlocks auras, and higher anvils need a certain number of Index entries (the 200x Anvil, for example, needs 24 unless you buy its pass).
5. Don't stop while you're away
The game keeps your machines cutting and gives you Power offline. Start a long cut and leave a good anvil going before you log off.
What nobody has published yet
- Pickaxe stats: the store gives every pickaxe's Robux price, but not how much Power growth each one adds or its in-game Money price.
- Which anvil multipliers need how many Index entries: only the 200x Anvil's 24 entries is stated.
- What's inside rocks and their odds: the game shows core chances in its shop, but nobody has written them down.
- Whether Cut a Rock has a code box at all: no code has been published, and we haven't confirmed where you'd redeem one.
